My 4 pillars of fitness:  Nutrition, Endurance, Flexibility and Strength

  • Be able to touch toes.  A daily stretching routine will easily keep you here.
  • Bench Press 1.25 times body weight for a few reps (or 1.5 times body weight at least once)
  • Pass Army Fitness Test with 90%+ at a moments notice, scores below will score 100%+ for a 40 year old man
    • Run 2 miles within 14 minutes
    • Do 80 push-ups within 2 minutes
    • Do 80 sit-ups within 2 minutes
  • IIFYM (If it fits your macros)- stay within calorie, carbs, protein and fat ratios, I do 40% carbs, 35% fat and 25% protein.
  • Drink at least half your weight in ounces of water per day, i.e. if I weigh 180 I should drink at least 90 ounces a day.  I actually try to drink around 3/4 my weight per day. (140 oz @185 lbs)
